u-Heury is dreaming of a woman. That in itself would not be alarming. However, this woman wants him to dig up a barrow, steal a ring from a dead body, and bring it to her.

A Cartful of Offal

In Eastdale, reports of bandits raiding caravans. We investigated, and found orcs in the process of slaughtering a caravan and taking the wagon back to their den. We followed them there, briefly fought, and fled with the wagon. The wagon contained a small lockbox with treasure (dwarven?) and was otherwise filled with dismembered corpses, human, orc, and otherwise. We returned, and negotiated with the orcs not to attack caravans from Eastdale. The orcs said something about wanting the corpses for their deity. We should investigate further to see if there is a dire threat we failed to nip in the bud.

Two and a Half Cattle

In Westkeep, u-Heury met a grandmother whose cattle were being killed. Yip met and spent the night with a band of unnatural hyenas. Later, we all met another adventuring band, two men and a halfling, who called themselves “Two and A Half Men”. They mentioned seeking a reward for finding the person or creature killing cattle and stopping it.

The Willing Sacrifice

Within the Dolemwood, we found a group of three individuals. Two wore hooded black cloaks, wielding silver daggers. One, a young woman, was bound to a stone in ritual negligee. Surprising them, we slew one of the men, after which the other surrendered and the woman insisted she be sacrificed according to strict ritual requirements to save her village from a monster apparently named the “Big Chuck”, which lives in a nearby lake and demands a virgin be sacrificed in a ritual involving a silver knife and a copper bowl, or else some unspecified violent harm will come to the village. The monster has not been seen in about 10 years.

The Frog Prince

In the Incandescent Grotto, we found a talking frog who claimed to be a prince near a trogolodyte lair. He was looking for his pond, which he claimed was nearby, and promised a reward for everyone who got him there. We took him up within the group, and researched where his lake might lie. Eventually, we learned of a place called the Dolemwood, near Westkeep, and brought him there – the journey from Eastdale was somewhat perilous through something known as the gauntlet, and we encountered a strange hollow tree on the way.
