Barty, Mariah and I discussed where to head first to meet contacts. We heard the escort ship take off, as Lawrence sped away. Then we noticed Jaswand was missing. Lawrence flew by us at a fast clip, did a loop around a building, and sped off again. I mentioned this to Mariah and suggested we go after him. She seemed dismissive, saying that was just Lawrence, but I persisted. He did a loop around that building on purpose, after attracting my attention with the fly-by. Reluctantly, our captain consented to get the ship moving. It’s a good idea to move it periodically anyway, since they have people after them.

Session 2

Tonya

As I was fetching and carrying and generally making myself useful, I encountered a troll on the stairs. He was half again as tall as I was, and looked to be in bad shape. His fur was singed and patchy, although his hands were shiny, as if newly made. We greeted each other politely, and he said his name was Lawrence. I asked if he needed healing, but he said he was fine. I called to Jaswand, since she’s the healer, to give him a look over anyway. He’s likely to take the brunt of any assault against us, and needs to be kept in good shape. So I can hide behind him, and throw my stars from cover.

Session 1

Tonya

The instructions I received from the journeyman were cryptic, to say the least. Go to this exact location at this exact time. Go here, go there, walk backwards this many steps, turn in a circle three times here, skip to the left three times there. But, with every step, I could feel the warp of reality bending. Then, when I completed the last step in that set of instructions, I felt reality spin, and suddenly I was somewhere else, in a different realm. Somewhere dark and cold, smelling of metal. By a river of something that, if it was water, you definitely don’t want to drink or bathe in. This world was filled with all kinds of machines. All different shapes and sizes, with unknown functions. None of the machines bothered me. I followed my second set of instructions through and up the buildings. When I came to the window the instructions said to be at, I tucked both sets of instructions into a hidden inside pocket of my clothes. I memorized this building and the surrounding buildings, noted landmarks, and counted which floor I was on. If nothing else, I can retrace my path and get home by reversing the ritual steps.
